Tell the world why 5-years in jail for streaming _anything_ copyrighted is a terrible idea.
Or protest the bill by exercising your fair use rights (sing a song, do a dance, etc). Here are some points you could mention:
- S. 978 is so extreme, even Justin Bieber could go to jail if it passes, for the videos that made him famous.
- Even the song "Happy Birthday" is copyrighted. So singing it online could be a felony with a 5-year sentence.
- Music companies have used laws made for large-scale pirates to sue 14-year-olds.
- Even if they don't target ordinary users now, this gives the dangerous powers they could use against us in the future.
